Embeddable worked with an independent investor, “Angel A”, to explore and validate three pre-seed opportunities, leading to an initial £50,000 investment.

Assess technology viability in multiple pre-seed opportunities.

An angel investor with a track record of writing first checks to early stage businesses needed technical validation on three opportunities to better evaluate realistic potential versus unduly high risk to capital, in four weeks.

The opportunity

Explore Due Diligence

An angel investor in the UK was keen to responsibly deploy pre-seed capital into businesses that placed AI at the centre of their solution.

Three investment opportunities were made available, with Embeddable engaged to provide due diligence on each.

  • Spend time with each target company to understand founder profiles and any team structure

  • Technical assessment of proof-of-concepts and early-stage products

  • Differentiate between what is likely to exist in the product long-term, and what would be rebuilt to support scale

  • Assess ongoing technical spend and commitments, such as AI provider costs

  • Provide standardised due diligence reporting for the investor to make comparisons where applicable

The objective was not to advise on investment decisions, but to establish what was technically true in each case.

The investor deployed £50,000 into one of the three opportunities. Embeddable were subsequently appointed into an advisory role to provide ongoing advisory and technical leadership for the co-founders, and technical guidance as the product was developed and prepared to enter the market.

  • Angel had a clear understanding of technical risks, and launch and scaling barriers, in a standard report format

  • Development timeline stayed aligned with the roadmap and business launched on schedule
