Hiring: Junior Web Developer

Salary: up-to £30,000 • Location: Middlesbrough (Hybrid)

The role: develop your skills, develop solutions.

Please note that we are not looking to work with a recruiter or any outsourcing providers for this role.

We’re Embeddable. We specialise in helping people and businesses to explore their ideas and bring them to life by building technology. As a junior web developer, you’ll join our business at an exciting time as we move into new premises and begin substantial new projects.

Importantly for this role, we don’t expect you to have years of experience, or to have had the opportunity to work on countless projects in the past. We believe that at an early stage in your career, a blend of learning through being involved in projects, as well as having time to carry out your own training is key. You’ll work closely with (not under) experienced team members on a range of projects, take part in early-stage idea discussions with clients alongside our team, and hone your craft as a “full-stack” web developer.

Our business is a blend of consultancy and development. We work closely with clients from the early stages of an idea, so being comfortable communicating with customers and partners in-person, over video and phone calls, and via email is key.

We’re looking for someone keen to enter into, or progress in, the industry and solve problems by building tech. Someone who’s not afraid to ask questions and, as you grow, challenge people’s way of thinking by applying your technical knowledge. It’s only by doing so that we’re able to build the best solutions for our clients.

The tech: what you’ll learn and work with.

We believe in using the right tools for the job, and that can mean using different technologies for different projects.

We don’t expect you to have experience of all of them – this is a list of some of the languages and products that we regularly use, which you may recognise:

  • PHP (we predominantly use the Laravel framework)
  • JavaScript (we often use Vue)
  • SQL Databases (namely MySQL)
  • Amazon Web Services
  • Package Managers (namely Composer and NPM)
  • GitHub (for code management)
  • Sentry (for managing bugs and alerts)
  • Linear (for managing tasks and product roadmaps)
We’ll provide you with:
  • Personal training budget of £1,000 per year

  • Reserved time to commit to your own training and CPD

  • 25 days of annual leave per year, plus Bank Holidays

  • Hybrid working (2-3 days per week in office)

  • Fortnightly 1:1s

  • Two salary reviews in your first year, then annually

  • Attend events and contribute to events across the UK

  • Plus a private pension, regular socials, and more…
